Certain people and places resonate. This was Panama for me. On my recent trip, I had the pleasure of working with John Hardy Jewelry while hosted by Panamanian artist and visionary, Miky Fabrega. Adorned in John Hardy’s exquisite artisan handcrafted jewelry in the context of Miky’s studio, I am able to reconnect with the beautiful chaos around and within me.
Founded in Bali in the 1970s and rooted in a collective of local artisans that create the one-of-a-kind pieces, the John Hardy brand is bound by an inspired connection, one that is comparable to the radiant energy of Panama’s creative community.
Rooted in time-honored traditions–those woven into John Hardy’s Classic Chain Collection and coils –I spent the day in the studio with Miky and friends surrounded by his luscious new body of work, The Avant Garden. The tropical air is thick with expression and dreamy daubs of nature explode into an enhanced vision.
A precious heirloom forms a symbolic connection to Miky’s creative initiative—it embraces the rich history and radiates the warm aspiration of the Panamanian spirit. And Miky himself embodies a new wave of potential in a time when you, too, can paint your own existence.
